The Stands of... Almere City FC

The supporters and stadiums bring color to the Eredivisie. For many fans, the stadium has become a second home. Whether the sun is shining or it's raining, in good times and bad, hundreds of thousands of supporters gather weekly in the stands to cheer for their favorite club. Alongside the clubs, players, and staff, they are all part of Our Football. This season, we take a tour of the eighteen fields with some photographers. This week, we showcase images from Almere City FC.

Background

Almere City FC is the youngest professional football organization in the Netherlands. Originally founded as FC Omniworld in 1995, the club from Almere made its professional debut in August 2005. In the 2010/2011 season, the name was changed to Almere City FC, marking the realization of the long-held desire to play at the highest level. Last summer, that ambition became a reality as the club made its debut in the Eredivisie, where it currently surprises with attractive football. Matches are played at the Yanmar Stadium, which can accommodate over 4,300 supporters.
