Mika Godts has been named Johan Cruyff Talent of the Month for the third time this season. The 20-year-old Ajax forward received the award for his performances in April.
Decisive once again
Mika Godts once again proved his importance for Ajax in April. In the 2–1 defeat to FC Twente, he provided an assist. A week later, he found the net himself in a 0–3 win over Heracles Almelo. In the 0–2 victory against NAC Breda, Godts was decisive with both a goal and an assist.
The Belgian was directly involved in four goals in April (two goals and two assists), the joint-highest total of the month. This season, Godts has now been involved in 27 goals (16 goals and 11 assists), the highest tally in the Eredivisie. He is currently the most productive player of the season, with only Ayase Ueda coming close on 25 goals and one assist.

Best dribbler
In April, Godts recorded eighteen touches in the opposition penalty area (fourth), created eight chances from open play (third), and completed eleven successful dribbles (first).
He also stands out over the course of the entire season when it comes to dribbling: with 164 attempts and 79 successful dribbles, the winger tops the league in both categories.
Third monthly award
For Mika Godts, this is his third Johan Cruyff Talent of the Month award. He previously won the prize in November and February. Notably, in each of those months he was also involved in exactly four goals.
As part of the award, Godts receives a €2,500 cheque on behalf of the Friends Lottery (VriendenLoterij) for the Ajax Foundation. In addition, €5,000 will be donated to social projects run by the Johan Cruyff Foundation.
