Kacper Kozłowski named Johan Cruyff Talent of the Month for the first time

Kacper Kozłowski has been named Johan Cruyff Talent of the Month for the first time in his career. The 20-year-old Polish international outperformed all players aged 21 or younger since the beginning of the season.

In May, Kozłowski surpassed his opponents with dribbles more frequently than any other player in the Eredivisie (11 times). Additionally, the midfielder/forward took eight shots on goal and was crucial with a goal against Ajax. Despite his young age, Kozłowski appeared 30 times this season, playing a total of 2060 minutes. During this period, the number 17 was involved in eight goals, with 3 goals and 5 assists.

As part of the prize, the Johan Cruyff Talent of the Month received a cheque worth €2,500 on behalf of the VriendenLoterij (FriendsLottery) for Vitesse Betrokken, the Arnhem club's community foundation. His selection also generated €5,000 to promote social projects organised by the Johan Cruyff Foundation.

Kacper Kozłowski surpassed Johan Bakayoko (PSV) and Kodai Sano (N.E.C. Nijmegen) in the monthly vote. Due to the end of the season, Kozłowski will officially receive the award at a later date.

The Eredivisie Player of the Month, Johan Cruyff Talent of the Month and Eredivisie Team of the Month are selected on the basis of statistics (Opta) and votes from football fans (KPN Man of the Match). These criteria also play a role in establishing the shortlist for the Eredivisie Player of the Year and Johan Cruyff Talent of the Year awards. These awards, along with the Azerion Vrouwen Eredivisie awards, will be presented during the Eredivisie Awards ceremony (2 September 2024).
