Mexican forward Hirving Lozano struck twice, in the 11th and 66th minute either side of a goal from Luuk De Jong.
The 28-year-old Dutch forward had enough time to position himself for Lozano's cross, and then leapt up to hit the ball with a superb overhead kick for PSV's second of the night.
With this victory, Mark van Bommel's men lead the Dutch table on 39 points, five ahead of Ajax who beat bottom of the table Breda 3-0 earlier on Saturday.
sc Heerenveen lie in eleventh place on 14 points after 13 games.
