FC Twente main supplier in May's Eredivisie Team of the Month
FC Twente is the biggest supplier to the Eredivisie Team of the Month, providing three players. Besides Černý, Michel Vlap and Lars Unnerstall (three clean sheets in May) can also look back on an excellent month. After FC Twente, AZ follows with two players (Clasie and Beukema). Vitesse, FC Utrecht, PSV, FC Volendam, Feyenoord and Ajax each supply one player.
The Eredivisie Team of the Month for May: Lars Unnerstall (FC Twente), Lutsharel Geertruida (Feyenoord), Sam Beukema (AZ), Jorrel Hato (Ajax), Million Manhoef (Vitesse), Jordy Clasie (AZ), Michel Vlap (FC Twente), Francesco Antonucci (FC Volendam), Václav Černý (FC Twente), Tasos Douvikas (FC Utrecht) and Xavi Simons (PSV).
Eredivisie Awards
The Eredivisie Player of the Month and Johan Cruyff Talent of the Month Awards are based on statistics (StatsPerform) and votes from football fans (KPN Man of the Match). These components also weigh for the shortlisting of the awards for Eredivisie Player of the Year and Johan Cruyff Talent of the Year. Ultimately, the 18 captains (via the players' union VVCS) and the 18 trainers (via Coaches Professional Football) decide the two winners. These awards, like those in the Azerion Women's Eredivisie, will be presented on 4 September 2023 during the Eredivisie Awards on ESPN.
The Eredivisie Player of the Month and Eredivisie Player of the Year vote is an initiative of the Eredivisie CV in collaboration with ESPN. The Johan Cruyff Talent of the Month is an initiative of the Eredivisie CV, ESPN, Johan Cruijff Foundation and VriendenLoterij (Friends Lottery).
