De Graafschap stun nine-man Feyenoord with 2-0 win

Feyenoord suffered a nightmare start to the new Eredivisie campaign on Sunday (12th August) - Giovanni van Bronckhorst's side were beaten 2-0 by newly-promoted De Graafschap and finished the game with nine men after Eric Botteghin and Jean-Paul Boetius were both sent off.

De Graafschap had lost their last four matches against Feyenoord, conceding 12 goals in the process, but against expectations they managed to find the opener here.

Nijland began a break down the Feyenoord right, Ajax loanee Leeroy Owusu's shot was palmed away by Feyenoord goalkeeper Justin Bijlow and Fabian Serrarens put the loose ball into the back of the net on the half hour.

To add insult to injury, De Graafschap added a second goal in stoppage time.
