Joey Veerman is Player of the Month U21

Joey Veerman has been named as the U21 Player of the Month by the Eredivisie. The mid-fielder from sc Heerenveen was directly involved in six goals in his last eight Eredivisie matches. The key player provided an assist for Kongolo (4-2 loss against Vitesse) and scored against ADO Den Haag (2-2) and FC Twente (2-3).

The 21-year old from Volendam shot six times on goal and realised a passing accuracy of 84%. Veerman also created eighteen chances for his team-mates, the highest number of all the Eredivisie players in February.

Veerman, after Chidera Ejuke, is the second player from sc Heerenveen to be named as Player of the Month U21 this season. In the U21 category, the mid-fielder beat players such as Cody Gakpo (PSV) and Abdou Harroui (Sparta Rotterdam).

The Player of the Month award is an initiative of Eredivisie CV in collaboration with FOX Sports (media partner) and Opta Sports (official match data supplier). The scores are assigned to players objectively on the basis of more than 60 different statistics. Only players who have played at least two-thirds of the total number of game minutes are eligible for a prize. The prize for U21 Player of the Month is only awarded to players who are 21 or younger at the start of the competition.
