Heracles Almelo has dismissed the head coach John Lammers

Heracles Almelo parts ways with head coach John Lammers with immediate effect. This decision was communicated to the staff, player group, and employees this morning, as announced by Heracles Almelo in a press statement today.

"We have made this decision with a heavy heart," said Technical Director Nico-Jan Hoogma. "Unfortunately, we no longer have the confidence that we can reverse the negative trend we find ourselves in under John. With only three points from the last six matches, our objective (maintaining our position in the Eredivisie) is at risk. We should not forget that under John's leadership, we returned to the Eredivisie in just one season, and for that achievement, we are immensely grateful to him."

Lammers himself is naturally disappointed. "I certainly felt that we could turn things around together and am convinced that we could have stayed in the league. We had a plan ready for after the winter break, and I am saddened that I won't be able to execute that plan anymore. Unfortunately, the club leadership has made this decision. I don't agree with it, but I will have to accept it. It was a privilege to work for Heracles Almelo, and I have met many good people. I look back on that with a very positive feeling. I wish the club all the best."

Hendrie Krüzen will be in charge until at least the winter break.
