Wouter Goes (20) earns the Johan Cruyff Talent of the Month title for the second time this season, following his first win in December.
With Goes in the starting lineup, AZ recorded victories against Go Ahead Eagles, FC Twente, and sc Heerenveen (playoffs), while drawing with Almere City.
The centre-back impressed with 14 clearances (10 headers), a pass completion rate of 87.2%, 29 progressive passes, and his second Eredivisie goal — scored against Go Ahead Eagles.
AZ’s performance with Goes in the starting XI was significantly better:
- 56.5% win rate (vs. 27.3% without him)
- 1.0 goals conceded per match (vs. 1.4)
- 2.0 points per match (vs. 1.0)
As part of the award, the VriendenLoterij donated €2,500 to ASV Arsenal, the Amsterdam club where Goes started his career. An additional €5,000 was donated to the Johan Cruyff Foundation to support social sports initiatives. The award was presented by ESPN host Aletha Leidelmeijer.

About the Awards
The Player of the Month, Talent of the Month, and Team of the Month awards are based on Opta statistics and fan votes (KPN Man of the Match).
These metrics also contribute to the Eredivisie Player of the Year and Johan Cruyff Talent of the Year awards, which will be presented on Monday, May 26 during the Eredivisie Awards.
The monthly awards are an initiative of the Eredivisie CV, in collaboration with ESPN, VriendenLoterij, and the Johan Cruyff Foundation.
