Starting 1 July 2025, ESPN and Eredivisie CV will launch the official Fantasy game of the VriendenLoterij Eredivisie: ESPN Fantasy Voetbal. Build your team, challenge your friends and score points based on real matches.
From 1 July, you'll be able to start selecting players and building your squad. The game kicks off on 8 August, alongside the start of the Eredivisie season. It’s free to play in the ESPN GOAL! What is ESPN Fantasy Voetbal?
In ESPN Fantasy Voetbal, you step into the shoes of both coach and technical director. With a budget of €100 million, you create a team of 15 Eredivisie players. You can choose up to three players per club. Player prices vary based on performance — it’s up to you to build the best team within your budget.
Points are awarded based on live Eredivisie match events. Goals, assists and clean sheets earn you points, while cards, missed penalties or conceded goals will cost you. The ESPN GOAL! App shows you real-time highlights of your players' actions — straight to your phone.
Each gameweek, you choose your starting eleven, select a captain for double points and can make one free transfer. You’re not just playing for yourself: in subleagues, you compete against friends, colleagues or fellow fans. It adds an extra layer of competition and fun — who will come out on top in your group?
Even a slow start can still lead to success if you manage your team smartly throughout the season.
