Eight-year-old Ryan, a huge Go Ahead Eagles fan, receives heartbreaking news when he is diagnosed with bone cancer. After undergoing a major operation in which part of his leg had to be amputated, Ryan continues to dream of making his dream come true: becoming a professional footballer. His grandfather, Robbie, submits a wish, and on Saturday, 23 November, that dream becomes a reality.
During the match between Go Ahead Eagles and Almere City FC, Ryan experiences the day of his life. Accompanied by technical manager Paul Bosvelt and his proud grandfather, Ryan makes a spectacular arrival by helicopter, landing at the centre circle of De Adelaarshorst in Deventer to the cheers of thousands of fans. In a special video, Ryan and his grandfather reflect on this magical day.
