Robin van Persie brace helps Feyenoord beat NAC

Robin van Persie fired his third and fourth goals of the Dutch Eredivisie campaign as Feyenoord beat NAC Breda 4-2 for their third consecutive league win on Sunday.

The former Manchester United striker gave Feyenoord a first-half lead and struck his second after the visitors had equalised through Gianluca Nijholt's 34th-minute penalty.

The 35-year-old had returned to his boyhood club Feyenoord, where he began his professional career in 2002, from Turkish side Fenerbahce earlier this year.

Captain van Persie was also involved in Feyenoord's second goal as his header came off the bar and was deflected off Breda's goalkeeper Benjamin van Leer and into the back of the net in the 62nd minute

Tonny Vilhena struck the home side's fourth in the 78th minute before Mitchell te Vrede grabbed the visitors' second three minutes later.

With this win Feyenoord sit in third place in the table on nine points, three behind leaders PSV Eindhoven, who thrashed Willem II 6-1 on Saturday (1st September).
