Real Madrid have announced that Martin Odegaard will join Vitesse Arnhem on a loan deal for the 2018-19 season.
The 19-year-old signed for the Spanish giants in 2015 but has found game time limited at first-team level, making just one La Liga appearance before being sent out on loan.
Odegaard agreed to an 18-month loan deal with SC Heerenveen and played 38 Eredivisie appearances between 2016-18, scoring three goals during his time in the Dutch top flight.
The youngster will now return to the Netherlands for the entirety of the 2018-19 campaign, with Real Madrid confirming a season-long loan deal with Vitesse on Tuesday.
The past year and a half I have played in the Eredivisie," Odegaard said upon confirmation of his move. "I was impressed by Vitesse.
"I got to know Vitesse as a good footballing team, with an offensive and dominant view of the game. I think that way of playing is good for me.
Vitesse has also shown that it gives young players a chance. That is why I am happy with the opportunity that Vitesse offers me.
