One more time: Oeh-ah Gentenaar? One more time: Jacky, Jacky, Jacky goal? And one more time: the historic N.E.C. side that made it through a European winter in 2008–2009? On Saturday, November 15, N.E.C. will celebrate its 125th anniversary with a special jubilee match, featuring Mario Been in charge of one team and Ron de Groot leading the other.
The 2025–2026 season at N.E.C. is all about the club’s 125th anniversary. On Saturday, November 15 at 16:30, 125 years of N.E.C. will come together in the Goffertstadion for a unique jubilee match. Nijmegen will relive old times, with countless N.E.C. heroes lacing up their boots once again.
Been is busy assembling his squad and can already count on the likes of Lasse Schöne, Gábor Babos and Jeremain Lens. De Groot, meanwhile, has secured the presence of Dennis Gentenaar, Jeffrey Leiwakabessy and Jack de Gier.
Both teams are still active on the transfer market, with N.E.C. regularly unveiling new names in the run-up to the game.
Alongside the jubilee match, N.E.C.’s 125th birthday will be celebrated with plenty of entertainment in and around the Goffertstadion. For young fans, the N.E.C. Juniors kids’ zone will be open next to the Hazenkamp stand, while a historic terrace will be set up at the front of the stadium. The full programme will be announced at a later date.
Part of the proceeds from this match will be donated to GezondRijk Nijmegen, N.E.C.’s social foundation.
