The appointments of Brands and Laros were confirmed during the Shareholders’ Meeting, where all eighteen clubs voted unanimously in favour. Brands succeeds Thijs van Es, who recently departed FC Utrecht after seven years of service.
For the PSV director, the Eredivisie organisation is familiar territory. During his first spell at PSV, Brands served for more than eight years as chairman of the Eredivisie CV Technical Platform.
Alongside Marcel Brands, the Eredivisie CV Supervisory Board consists of Manfred Laros (Sparta Rotterdam), two independent members Arian Buurman (SOS Children’s Villages) and Anko van der Werff (SAS) and chairman Ruud Kok.
