Ivan Perišić (PSV) has been named Eredivisie Player of the Month for May, following a decisive role in his team’s title run. The Croatian attacker stood out based on Opta stats and fan votes
In May, PSV secured wins over Fortuna Sittard (4-1), Feyenoord (2-3), Heracles Almelo (4-1), and Sparta Rotterdam (1-3) — with Ivan Perišić playing a starring role. The Croatian attacker was directly involved in six goals: five scored, one assisted.
His hat trick against Fortuna Sittard earned him a unique distinction: Perišić is now the oldest PSV player to score a hat trick in the Eredivisie. In fact, only Dirk Kuyt (May 14, 2017) managed a hat trick at an older age over the past 40 years.

Perišić’s May stats are equally impressive: 13 shots (top 5), 8 on target (2nd most), and 26 open-play crosses (3rd most). He was also voted KPN Man of the Match twice.
He becomes the second PSV player this season to win Player of the Month, after Joey Veerman in August. With 17 total monthly awards, spread across 12 different players, PSV now tops the all-time ranking. The trophy will be presented to Perišić in the coming weeks.

About the awards
The Player of the Month, Talent of the Month, and Team of the Month awards are based on Opta statistics and fan votes (KPN Man of the Match).
These metrics also contribute to the Eredivisie Player of the Year and Johan Cruyff Talent of the Year awards, which will be presented on Monday, May 26 during the Eredivisie Awards.
The monthly awards are an initiative of the Eredivisie CV, in collaboration with ESPN, VriendenLoterij, and the Johan Cruyff Foundation.
