Heroes of clubs arise in the eight season of the KPN eDivisie

In collaboration with KPN, GXTrust, and Southfields B.V., the Eredivisie CV is launching the eighth season of the KPN eDivisie. Players, coaches, and clubs are preparing for another thrilling battle for the national title in the Eredivisie’s premier gaming competition. On Tuesday, November 5, the excitement kicks off with EA SPORTS FC 25 at ESPN Studios in Amsterdam. The competition can be followed live every Tuesday afternoon on ESPN (TV) and the KPN eDivisie's YouTube and Twitch channels.

With the return of FC Groningen, NAC Breda, and Willem II, and the new competition format, KPN eDivisie promises spectacular matches and broadcasts weekly. Gamers from the eighteen Eredivisie clubs will compete for a prize pool of €50,000, two direct spots in the EA SPORTS FC World Championship, and the top 4 teams will advance to the eChampions League later in this FC 25 season.

Longer playtime, club heroes, and more goals and entertainment

This season’s switch to a 1v1 format, with extended playtime to 9 minutes per half and more engaging content between matches, gives the KPN eDivisie broadcasts a major entertainment boost.

Popular EA SPORTS FC influencers such as Paskie Rokus, Sebas de Jong, and Bas van Velzen return as commentators and reporters for the season. ESPN reporter Bennett van Fessem will host the show, analyzing matches with analysts and former KPN eDivisie players Renzo Oemrawsingh and Dani Visser.

In recent years, the KPN eDivisie has shown its strength with world champions and other international tournament winners, establishing itself as one of the top EA Sports FC competitions worldwide. This year, the league and broadcasts are set to reach even greater heights, positioning the gamers more than ever as heroes to young football fans.

Former champions competing for the title

Reigning national champion Ajax is once again looking to defend its title, with dedicated club fan Levi de Weerd taking the controls. De Weerd, who has multiple European titles to his name and won the 2023 EA SPORTS Cup, will face fierce competition from notable players such as Ali Riza Aygün (PSV), Talha Demirel (Feyenoord), Max Koelemaij (FC Utrecht), Brent Weerink (FC Twente), Collin Dekkers (Heracles Almelo), Damian Sitaram (PEC Zwolle), and Giovanni Bakhuijsen (Almere City FC). These players have earned their reputation in the EA SPORTS FC world and will challenge each other intensely for the coveted title, prize money, and qualifications for the EA SPORTS FC World Championship and the eChampions League.

Dreams coming true in the KPN eDivisie

For three players, a long-cherished dream is coming true. Mika Muskee, who represented FC Twente last year, will be wearing the colors of his favorite Eredivisie club, FC Groningen, this season. Additionally, Finn Donderwinkel (Go Ahead Eagles) and Shariff van der Stee (NAC Breda) will represent the clubs where they are often seen cheering from the stands.
