Hakim Ziyech (26) has been named by Eredivisie CV as Player of the Month for August. In terms of statistics, the mid-field attacker from Ajax was the top performing player in the Eredivisie. AZ left-back Owen Wijndal (19) was named as Player of the Month U21.
With four goals and one assist, Ziyech had his most productive start of the season ever. The Moroccan international was involved in a third of Ajax’s goals this season and, after five rounds, shared the top-scorer title with three other players in the Eredivisie.
Ziyech also achieved a major milestone in the match which was won 1-4 against Sparta Rotterdam: over 75 goals and assists for Ajax in the Eredivisie. The counter for this attacker, after 95 competition duels, now stands at 36 goals and 40 assists.
In four matches, Hakim Ziyech managed 19 shots at goal, created 13 chances and completed 9 dribbles. The Ajax player also won 26 personal duels, realised 352 ball-contacts and achieved a passing accuracy of 75%.
He also managed to keep team-mate Tadic, Haris Vuckic (FC Twente) and Ibrahim Dresevic (sc Heerenveen) behind him. It is the second time that Ziyech has won the prize; last season the attacking mid-fielder was named as Player of the Month in October.
