Based on statistics and votes from football fans, 20-year-old Kenneth Taylor performed best of all players aged 21 or under in November. This is the first time that the Dutch international has won the Johan Cruijff Talent of the Month.
Although it was not the best month for Ajax (two draws and one loss) and Taylor missed 98 minutes of playing time, the midfielder was nevertheless the most productive with two goals and an assist. Kenneth Taylor scored with two of his three shots at goal in November, as many times as with his previous 12 shots in the Eredivisie. Only three Ajax players sent more passes on the opponent's half (116, of which 102 were successful), while nine teammates completed more playing minutes.
Due to his participation in the World Cup, the Ajax midfielder will not receive the award until he returns to the Netherlands. At that time he will also receive a cheque for €2,500 on behalf of the VriendenLoterij (Friends Lottery). This amount will go to sports club De Foresters in Heiloo, which is the amateur club where Taylor started his football career at a young age. His election also raised €5,000 for Johan Cruyff Foundation projects.
