From December 23 to January 9, football fans had the opportunity to cast their votes for the Eredivisie Team of the Season So Far. Through the official Eredivisie website and social media, over 5,000 fans voted for their favorite players. This is your chosen star lineup for the first half of the season.
PSV and FC Twente are the main contributors to the team, each providing three players. From league leaders PSV, Ricardo Pepi, Ismael Saibari, and Ryan Flamingo secured spots in the lineup. While Noa Lang and Malik Tillman were also strong contenders, they ultimately lost out to Oliver Edvardsen (Go Ahead Eagles) and Mika Godts (Ajax). Representing FC Twente, Sem Steijn, Bart van Rooij, and Lars Unnerstall made the cut, with Unnerstall winning the close race for the goalkeeper position against Willem II’s Thomas Didillon-Hödl.
The lineup also includes Feyenoord’s Dávid Hancko and Anis Hadj Moussa, along with N.E.C. Nijmegen left-back Calvin Verdonk, who received significant support from fans in Indonesia. Notably, Sem Steijn received the most votes overall, followed by Dávid Hancko, Anis Hadj Moussa, and Ricardo Pepi.
Players who narrowly missed out on a spot in the team include Mees Hilgers (FC Twente), Jorrel Hato (Ajax), Troy Parrott (AZ), Kenneth Taylor (Ajax), and Yoann Cathline (FC Utrecht).
The Eredivisie Team of the Season So Far is a fitting reflection of the players who, according to fans, impressed the most during the first half of the campaign. As the second half of the season kicks off this weekend, the excitement is set to continue.
