An excellent strike by Jordy Clasie set Feyenoord on their way to a 3-0 victory over PEC Zwolle at De Kuip on Sunday (21st October).
Feyenoord dominated the early stages and eventually took the lead after 17 minutes when a corner fell to Clasie outside the penalty area and the midfielder volleyed a vicious strike into the top corner.
Nicolai Jorgensen was then denied by the post but a minute before the break, Feyenoord doubled their lead when the Danish striker rose to power a header past PEC Zwolle goalkeeper Mickey van der Hart from a corner.
In the opening stages of the second half, PEC Zwolle were the dominant team with Thomas Lam was allowed space to curl a strike against the bar from the edge of the area.
The hosts then hit the post through Sam Larsson and with 15 minutes left they sealed the victory with Steven Berghuis racing forward before curling an excellent strike past van der Hart from distance.
The victory keeps Feyenoord two points behind Ajax in third, while PEC Zwolle are 11th.
