The European Leagues will be supporting the 2018 edition of the European Week of Sport (EWoS) campaign through the initiatives and activities of its Members Leagues.
The European Week of Sport is a truly European initiative run by the Sport Unit of the European Commission under the leadership of Commissioner Tibor Navracsics. Involvement of a broad range of national coordinators, European partners, national members and organisers promoting the #BeActive campaign is essential to the success of the Week.
As an official EWoS Partner, the European Leagues agree with the principles and objectives of the campaign and support the promotion of participation in sport and physical activity. The European Leagues will contribute to raising awareness of the initiatives developed by the European Commission through their communication platforms and European wide fan base.
By leveraging the reach and popularity of the most successful leagues in the world, the European Leagues will help share the key messages that sport not only provides many health benefits but can bring people together and positively reinforce citizenship throughout Europe.
The Eredivisie is excited te be actively participating and supporting the European Week of Sport campaign again in 2018. Jacco Swart, CEO of the Eredivisie CV: “Sport has universal appeal and is good for physical and mental well-being. The initiative of the European Week of Sport encourages everyone to exercise. The Eredivisie is a member of the European Leagues (EL) and will help promote the keys messages and encourage all citizens to engage in a healthy and active lifestyle.”
