The Eredivisie, the top division of Dutch club football, has further increased its interest in Eredivisie Media & Marketing (EMM) by acquiring media group EndemolShine’s (Banijay) 8.82 per cent stake in the company that controls collective broadcast and sponsorship rights to the league.
Following the agreement, the Eredivisie’s interest in EMM has risen from 35.28 per cent to 44.1 per cent. The other shareholders in EMM are the Walt Disney Company (51 per cent) and the Dutch Football Association (KNVB) with 4.9 per cent.
The planned takeover is in line with the future plans towards a professional league organisation and the further value development of Dutch football.
