Luuk de Jong's goal in added time secured a crucial 2-1 victory for PSV Eindhoven over Heracles Almelo on Sunday (21st January), as they go five points clear of second-placed Ajax at the top of the Dutch Eredivisie.
Phillip Cocu's men opened the scoring in the first half's first minute of added time, as an unmarked Steven Bergwijn dully tapped in Luuk de Jong's header for a 1-0 lead before the break.
Heracles pulled one back in the 63rd minute when Santiago Arias brought Brahim Darri down inside the box, for the home-side to be awarded a penalty.
Goalkeeper Jeroen Zoet was unable to stop Jeff Hardeveld's spot kick and the scores were level.
However, Luuk de Jong made PSV's last touch of the match count, sending the ball past 'keeper' Bram Castro for his side to take home three vital points.
With this defeat Heracles remain in 12th place on 22 points.
