Sport is an integral part of our lives, bringing communities together, improving our health and adding billions in revenue to the economy. This year we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the European Week of Sport, an EU initiative that has helped millions of Europeans discover the physical, mental and social benefits of sport and physical activity.
Are you a regular football player, athlete or a weekend walker? Are you looking for a fresh start? Whatever your situation, this is your invitation to embrace an active lifestyle. The week runs from 23 to 30 September every year. In 2025, the campaign will focus on:
- Celebrating 10 years of the European Week of Sport.
It's been 10 years of energy, enthusiasm and empowerment. European Week of Sport 2025 invites you to join the celebration. Let's celebrate sport as a force for connection, equality and inclusion. You can inspire the next generation to #BeActive every day of the year. - Move more, scroll less.
Modern life keeps us connected, but it also keeps us sitting still too often. This year, the European Week of Sport is encouraging everyone, especially young people, to trade scrolling for strolling. Every small step counts, whether it's a dance challenge, walk with friends or a lunchtime game of football. - Inspiring everyone to #BeActive - Then. Now. Always.
Being active is one of the most effective ways to boost mental well-being, reduce stress and bring people together across generations. From grandparents walking with their grandchildren to teenagers playing team sports, and adults taking a break to exercise. Physical activity helps us feel better, think more clearly and connect more at every age.
Since 2015, the Week has helped millions of Europeans discover the physical, mental and social benefits of sport and physical activity. Join as we look back on a decade of progress and look ahead to an even more dynamic future. Read more about the annual European Week of Sport here.
