Ajax main supplier of Eredivisie Team of the Month for September
Ajax has returned as the leading contributor to the Eredivisie Team of the Month for the first time since January 2024. The Amsterdam club secured victories in September, defeating Fortuna Sittard (5-0) and RKC Waalwijk (0-2), while drawing against Go Ahead Eagles (1-1). Defenders Youri Baas, Josip Sutalo, and Devyne Rensch, along with the returning Davy Klaassen, are all included in the Team of the Month.
PSV and AZ follow closely, each with two players selected. AZ particularly impressed with a remarkable 9-1 victory over sc Heerenveen, featuring standout performances from Troy Parrott and Ibrahim Sadiq. From PSV, alongside Dams, Malik Tillman also makes an appearance in the Team of the Month. The team is rounded out by Mohamed Nassoh (Sparta Rotterdam), Jasper Schendelaar (PEC Zwolle), and Sem Steijn (FC Twente).
About the election
The election for the Eredivisie Player of the Month, Johan Cruijff Talent of the Month, and the Eredivisie Team of the Month is based on statistics from Opta and votes from football fans (KPN Man of the Match). These criteria also factor into the selection for the Eredivisie Player of the Year and Johan Cruijff Talent of the Year. These awards are presented at the end of the season during the Eredivisie Awards.
The monthly elections are an initiative of Eredivisie CV in collaboration with ESPN, the Johan Cruyff Foundation, and VriendenLoterij. This partnership aims to celebrate and promote excellence in Dutch football, recognizing both individual talents and team performances throughout the season.
