Ajax edged to five points behind Eredivisie leaders PSV Eindhoven on Saturday (24th November) after defeating NAC Breda at the Rat Verlegh Stadion in Breda.
Erik ten Hag's Ajax extended their unbeaten run in the Eredivisie to 12 matches on Saturday, after beating bottom of the table NAC Breda 3-0 to close in on leaders PSV Eindhoven.
The home-side were unfortunate to concede an own goal in the 40th minute when Jethro Mashart scored with his chest from a corner-kick.
Mashart objected to the referee soon after claiming that Matthijs de Ligt had pushed him but the referee was not convinced and Ajax went into the break 1-0 ahead.
Ten minutes after the restart, Moroccan Zakaria Labyad scored what could be the goal of the season with a superb volley to defeat Benjamin van Leer in Breda's goal.
Ajax's third did not come until the very last minute, and it was Klaas-Jan Huntelaar who slid in to tap Nicolas Tagliafico cross past van Leer.
With this win Ajax moved to five points behind PSV, who are on 39 points. NAC Breda sink deeper into the very bottom of the table on eight points from 13 games.
