The 8-year-old Jedajah spends a lot of time at the Wilhelmina Children's Hospital in Utrecht due to her metabolic disorder. Since the FC Utrecht players visited the hospital, she has been a big fan of the Utrecht club. Last Sunday a big wish came true for her: to attend a live match for the first time at Stadium Galgenwaard.
“It's not nice to be in the hospital. Sometimes the players come along here, then I'm happy again", says Jedajah. In the special FC Utrecht sky box in the Wilhelmina Children's Hospital, she now watches all the matches of the club that has stolen her heart.
Last Sunday she was picked up by the FC Utrecht Team Bus to attend match against Heracles Almelo in the Galgenwaard, a big dream of Jedajah. Together with her family, she cheered the club for victory. “We really need to do something fun together as a family, that is not often possible due to Jedajah's disease. It is fantastic to see what FC Utrecht does for the children in the hospital", says Jedajah's mother.
This is endorsed by FC Utrecht captain Willem Janssen: “The collaboration with the Wilhelmina Children's Hospital is something that you as a player, but especially as a club, are extremely proud of."
The Wilhelmina Children's Hospital has been visited for years by the players of FC Utrecht, to let the children forget that they are sick. In December the club opened its own sky box at the WKZ, including a large screen where all matches are shown live, games and books. As a result, the club is also there for the children when the selection is not present in the hospital.
